I am Back

It has been a while since I posted consistently.  I want to apologize for that and promise that for the foreseeable future at least I will post more consistently.  I mainly stopped posting because I got bored and for a little bit I stopped reading history or even really thinking about it all that much.

I started this blog a little over 8 years ago in September 2010 when I was in the middle of wrapping up the Thesis for my first Master’s Degree in History.  I was then and am still now a total history geek with an emphasis on military history.  Since I started the blog a lot has changed.  When I started I was still an active duty soldier but have since retired from the US Army.  I have also completed a second Master’s in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma.  It was completing that second degree this past spring that pretty much directly led to the lapse in posting.

I have always been a big reader and while I was in school I did a lot of non-fiction reading.  As regular readers (if there are any) know, I also like to read Sci-Fi and I neglected reading that while I was in school.  When I finished this past spring I not only bought a new car (OK, not that new, it is 37 years old) that I spent a lot of time tinkering with, I also went on a Sci-Fi reading binge of all the books I had put off reading while in school.  I have made a few posts about repairs I have made on my Jeep and I will probably make more of those in the future as well.

I did decide however, that it is time to start posting more consistently even if nobody is reading the blog.  I will probably cover a wider range of topics in the future than just book reviews but I intend on keeping my focus for the most part squarely within the realms of history/international relations with occasionally commentary on global happenings.  I have consistently wanted comment and discussion on my posts and rarely gotten it but that desire still remains.
