{"id":863,"date":"2011-02-25T17:06:01","date_gmt":"2011-02-25T15:06:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.military-history.us\/?p=863"},"modified":"2011-02-25T17:07:05","modified_gmt":"2011-02-25T15:07:05","slug":"bureaucratic-redundancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.military-history.us\/2011\/02\/bureaucratic-redundancy\/","title":{"rendered":"Bureaucratic Redundancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I generally try to avoid posting or saying negative things about work for fear that the fickle-demons of the internet will find out and get me in trouble but I have to share this one.<\/p>\n<p>I saw this today at work and just thought it was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in my 20+ years of government service. \u00a0 I have to go through all the SOPs at work and ensure they are in the correct format as part of yearly update drudgery. \u00a0 What did I find that is so stupid you ask? \u00c2\u00a0We actually have a SOP at work about when and who is supposed to read SOPs. \u00a0 <strong>If that is not the most needless and redundant piece of bureaucracy, I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know what is.<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.military-history.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/facepalm.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-554\" title=\"facepalm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.military-history.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/facepalm.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"45\" height=\"24\" \/><\/a>I just had to do a forehead slap and wonder who originally thought the idea up. \u00a0 Every place I have ever worked has SOPs for all kinds of stuff, but I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think I have seen one about the rest of the SOPs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I generally try to avoid posting or saying negative things about work for fear that the fickle-demons of the internet will find out and get me in trouble but I have to share this one.
